Kindergarten Hoedown

All of the Kindergarten classes put on a show for the parents and families.  Her class dressed as worms.  The songs were really cute and she had fun singing on stage.

Last day of preschool

Thomas' last day of 3 year old preschool ended with a family picnic.  We were so lucky to have Ms. Lee again and will really miss seeing her next year.  But in two years Sam is going to be ready for her!

6th Birthday Party

Aniela decided on a pajama party at our house.  She planned the whole party from activities to food to cupcake decorations.  We had the girls decorate a pillowcase, and make candy necklaces.  Then they played pin the tail on the donkey.  We weren't brave enough to have that many 6 year olds stay for a sleep over so instead Maddie, Grace, Cole and Abby stayed the night.  It was a lot of fun and Aniela really enjoyed herself!

Abby and Aniela ... best buds

Friends from school ... Jane, Addison, Jackie

Friends from Preschool (and now Brownies) ... Erin and Olivia

Six Years Old

My baby turned 6 today! Such big changes in the past six years!  Over the past year there have been so many changes and Kindergarten has really helped her to grow.  She has thoroughly enjoyed her year in Kindergarten and loves going to school everyday.  In May, each teacher at Forest Pines picks one student from the class who demonstrated all the character traits (responsibility, respect, courage, self-discipline, etc.) throughout the year.  Aniela was picked for her class! We were very proud and she was excited because her principal announced her name and gave her a certificate.

Biggest change this year has to be that she can READ!!  I don't know how her Kindergarten teacher did it but she can just pick up a book and read.  I am so impressed and proud of her and love when she reads to me.  A bit sad that one more thing she doesn't need me for but this one I am okay with.  I hope that reading continues to be a thrill for her and she will become a life long reader.  I can't imagine my life without books and hope that I can pass that onto my children.

She continues to love all things crafts, coloring, cutting and gluing.  She loves to be outside swinging or flipping on the monkey bars and usually heads right outside after school.  She recently told me that she doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up but that she is deciding between a music teacher, an artist, a Moe's worker and picking up garbage. Not really sure how that will pan out! But can't wait to see!!!

Mother' Day at Preschool

I was invited to a Mother's Day breakfast at Thomas' class and was greeted with a homemade place mat, a flower and a hand made pin from Thomas.  It was very sweet and the kids served the mom's their breakfast!

Durham Bulls

We headed to the Durham Bulls game and enjoyed the party deck with one of Dave's clients.  It was a bit rainy but we still enjoyed ourselves!

Thomas turns 4

My little man has turned four!  He is such a fun loving little guy and I am amazed everyday at the joy he has for life.  He gets excited over every little thing every day and is not stop movement all day!  Thomas loves to be outside, run around, and wrestle with dad.  He has really enjoyed preschool and loves to see his friends.  He has learned so much and really has blossomed there.

For his birthday, we took him and Sam for doughnuts and then onto Marbles Kids Museum.  Then we finished the day with cake and presents with the Midhas.  My wish for Thomas is that he will continue to look at the world and live with the joy he has at 4.  I hope his positive outlook will keep him fulfilled and surrounded by the ones he loves.
